2023 | Austin Peay

  • Saw action in 30 games, starting 21 primarily at second base, and batted .236 with three home runs and 10 RBI.
  • Went 4-for-4 with a double, RBI, and stolen base in his Governors debut against Illinois State (Feb. 18).
  • Hit two home runs in a 2-for-4, three RBI effort at Central Arkansas (May 7).
  • Reached base three times (1-for-3, two walks) at Tennessee (May 9).
  • Started twice in the ASUN Baseball Championship, was 1-for-3 with a home run against Stetson (May 25), and closed the season going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI against Jacksonville State (May 26).

2022 | Hawaii

  • Played in 23 games, including five starts, at Hawaii.
  • After appearing off the bench in the season opener, started Games 2 and 3 against Washington State (Feb. 19-21). Notched first hit in Game 3 of the series, going 1-for-4 with a run scored.
  • Started and scored three runs as part of a 1-for-4 outing that saw him walk and reach twice after being hit by a pitch in 15-inning victory at San Diego State (Feb. 28).
  • Came of the bench to earn a leadoff walk and score the game-winning run at Southern California (April 4).

2021 | Central Arizona College

  • Saw action in 50 games, batting .311 with five home runs, 30 RBI, 42 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases.
  • Helped CAC reach the NJCAA Division I World Series national championship game.
  • Drove in three runs in a 2-for-4 outing, including a two-run home run and a bases-loaded walk, in an elimination game win against Cowley College (June 2).
  • Opened season with 2-for-3, two RBI outing that included a double, two walks, and three runs scored against Colorado Northwestern Community College (Feb. 3).
  • Had a four-RBI day at Chandler Gilbert Community College (March 27), going 2-for-4 with a home run.

2020 | Central Arizona College

  • Played 28 games during the COVID-19 shortened season and batted .342 with 24 runs scored and 15 stolen bases.
  • Opened the season with an eight-game hit streak that saw him bat .480 (12-for-25) with four RBI and eight runs scored.
  • Stole four bases at Scottsdale (Feb. 21), scoring twice, as part of a 1-for-2, two-walk day.
  • Had five base hits and five stolen bases in season’s final three games (March 9-10).

2019 | Central Arizona College

  • Helped Central Arizona win the NJCAA Division I World Series.
  • Appeared in 55 games, batting .295 with 30 RBI, 37 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases.
  • Saw action in the NJCAA World Series against Iowa Western (May 28), coming off the bench to walk and score a run.
  • Had two four-hit outings during the regular season: March 5 at Pima (4-for-6) and April 13 at Glendale (4-for-6).

Prep Career

  • Played shortstop for head coach Wes Yonamine at Pearl City High School.
  • Ranked the No. 3 shortstop in Hawaii’s Class of 2018 by Perfect Game.

Personal

  • Matthew Aribal is the son of Ivan Aribal and Grace Morales.
  • Birthday is August 5.
  • Has four siblings: Isaiah, Joshua, Abigail, and Jeremiah.
  • His brother, Joshua, is a right-handed pitcher at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington.
