Athletic Director's Honor Roll (F21)
2021: Started the first five games of the season for the Govs before suffering a season-ending injury against Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 24)… Recorded five tackles and a pass breakup in the season-opening contest at Western Kentucky (Aug. 27)… Had four tackles, a tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and an interception against Mississippi Valley State (Sept. 10)… Matched his season high with five tackles at Alabama A&M (Sept. 17), also recorded 1.5 tackles for loss, half a sack, two quarterback hurries, and a pass breakup in the contest.
2021: Played in nine games, starting three at defensive back… Recorded at least one tackle in each appearance, with three games of five or more tackles… Had six tackles, one for loss, and a pass breakup at Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 25) … Had a career-best eight-tackle performance against Tennessee State (Oct. 2) with one tackle for loss… Finished tied for fifth on the team with four tackles for loss.
2020-2021: Played in eight games and made four starts at safety after transferring from Ole Miss... Posted 11 tackles during the three-game fall schedule... Made his first tackle for loss in a two-tackle performance against Tennessee State (Feb. 28)… Was named OVC Defensive Player of the Week after intercepting a pair of passes in the Governors’ 13-10 win over No. 7 Jacksonville State… Recorded at least one tackle in each appearance and made at least five tackles in three games... Finished the season tied for the team lead with two interceptions.
Prior to Austin Peay: Played in eight games over two seasons at Ole Miss… Appeared in six games on special teams as a sophomore in 2019… Twice appeared in games on special teams as a redshirt freshman in 2018.
High School: Represented Mississippi in the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game where he intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown… Named First Team All-State by the Mississippi Association of Coaches and The Clarion-Ledger… Named to The Clarion-Ledger’s Dandy Dozen… Led Clinton to a 14-1 record and a 6A state championship… As a senior, recorded 51 tackles and six interceptions on defense, while tallying 31 catching for 522 yards and six TDs on offense…A 4-star recruit by Rivals and ESPN… Listed as the nation’s 30th-best athlete by Rivals and 49th-best wide receiver by ESPN… Ranked the No. 6 player in the state by Rivals.
Personal: Kam’Ron Jakial White Ruffin is the son of Jonathan and Kimberly Ruffin… Born Jan. 6… Has a brother, Jaylen… Earned a bachelor’s degree in sport wellness specialist in August 2021… Pursuing a second degree in leadership science at Austin Peay.
