Gavin Spurrier joined the Austin Peay staff in 2026 as offensive pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach after serving as offensive quality control at Duke. He oversees the Governors' passing game while mentoring the quarterbacks and assisting with offensive game planning.Â
Before arriving in Clarksville, Spurrier worked closely with Duke's quarterbacks and offensive staff, contributing to weekly game plans, opponent breakdowns, practice scripting and game-day communication. A former Blue Devils quarterback, Spurrier spent four seasons in the program under current Austin Peay head coach Jeff Faris and was the recipient of Duke Football's 2020 Micah Harris Trinity Teammate Award.

In 2020, he received the Micah Harris Trinity Teammate Award, given annually to n individual who is a true teammate and showcases character, unselfishness, compassion and pride
